Kate's Guest Room

If there is one thing I love it is a house guest! This week at Kelly's Korner we are visiting Guest Rooms. Click here to see lots more!
I adore hosting and housing loved ones!
The Weymouth is part hotel (and part special events facility and part home) and I wouldn't have it any other way. Fresh towels, travel needs in the dresser, and a luggage rack behind the door...
come on down!
The guest bedroom came together easily since I moved my bedroom decor (from my old house) into this space and bought/received/borrowed new for my master bedroom. I love when comforters are turned back at the end of the bed with a white coverlet and lots of throw pillows. This goes back to my passion for Dillard's show room when I was a little girl. This is a more recent pic (as in this evening), art print above the bed...new pillows...but the comforter isn't turned down CAUSE the sheets need to be put back on. Yes, with as many guests as we host the sheets are always being washed, dried, and used. Yes, I have two sets...but I like one more much more than I like the other. I know. I know.
One of my treasured items in the guest room are these two frames. One frame holds a note from my Grandma the day I left for college (Aug 95) and the other frame holds a note from my Mother the day of my 21st birthday. I love their words and always stop to read them when I make up the bed...which is at the end of each weekend! ha!
The guest room holds my cross collection (from travels) and $20 Pier One chair recovered by a girlfriend to match the look. I love that chair. In my old house, I sat in this chair ALL the time. I miss that chair and my little cottage from 2003-2007.
For my last birthday, my DG little sis gave me the Steel Magnolias movie poster! Not kidding. Framed perfectly for The Weymouth.
Not only the movie poster, BUT the movie poster with ALL the stars' autographs! I was surprised then (shocked) and still love to show this off! I am a huge fan of Steel Magnolias! Huge.

I painted this dresser and "distressed" it...which made this once $10 dresser(that someone gave me) a perfect fit for the guest room. I work to have a little sussy in the room for the guest as well as a fresh candle, notepad and pen, and a clean trashcan! Just don't look under the bed or you'll find luggage and my Christmas shopping for the next year!

Come on...The Weymouth is waiting for you!

Wow..would love to stay here. And I too had a Dillard's showroom passion. I love the idea of framing the notes. Gotta do that!

Thanks for stopping by Dee's Adventures. I love Dee Gee too and so glad to hear that they're bringing it back to Univ. of AR! I finished high school in Hot Springs, AR and my cousin wrote my rec for DG(she was in the UOFA chapter).
BTW - love the Steel Magnolias poster too!
