Kate's Master Bed and Loo too!

With summer trips and the house tour schedule, I haven't participated since June 5 - oh my!
It's time again to tour The Weymouth and this time it's Master Bedrooms. I tossed in my Master Loo since I didn't do the tour of those earlier this month!
It was super important to me in buying The Weymouth (July 2007) that my master bedroom windows would be in the backyard. Knowing just one house for my whole life - my bedroom window was in the backyard and my bedroom in the cottage (2003-2007) was also in the backyard...just one of those kate quirks.

Just like every other room in my house - because of family and friends the pieces came together very easily! My best friend, Kami, gifted me my headboard/foot board...which I LOVE!

Funny little tidbit about Kate...I switch sides of the bed with the seasons.
In the winter I sleep far away from the window and in the summer I like to sleep next to the window.
I am pretty particular on my bed. Each pillow has an exact spot. This is no surprise to you. Everything in my house has an exact spot. Making the bed ALWAYS makes the room look so much more picked up - even if it's not. Why is that?

One time friends stayed at my house while I was away and they took pictures of the beds to make sure they put everything back just right. So thoughtful.
And possibly a sign I need to let go.
While totally against funci law, I only have one bedside table. When I was a little girl my cousin Elizabeth had this big round table next to her bed and I can so remember thinking I will have that one day...I lovvved it. I bought this table ten years ago this summer...it has been a nightstand, an end table (large one), and now back to a nightstand.

I keep pictures of my parents with their moms (THE Florence and THE Gertrude) and then one of Mother and me. I keep my Dad's glasses as well...so while I sleep my glasses rest next to his.
By far one of the favorite things I own. This talented lady made this by personalizing Jeremiah 29:11 all for little ole' me. I read it every morning and every night as a ritual.
This chair came to me via one of my favorite DG alums (Judy!) of all time! I brought it back in my Honda from Arkansas...I will admit I could not see out of all mirrors - not safe. I love this chair. I sit here a lot...and I promise it is not as yellow as this picture made it look. It is so comfy and I can sit legs crossed/applesauce (the PC title for what I knew as "indian crossed"). This little HOPE pillow came from my Anchormate...which I love. With HOPE anything is possible. This is the sick part of me. I love the sheets super tight and love for everything to be tucked in. Sometimes I sit in my chair and just look at this for a second with a sense of accomplishment on this look. My godmother, Aunt Mary Kay, gave me my sheets as a house warming gift which I love.

Bought this armoire (Aug 2007) to match the bed I inherited from Kami...holds TV and lots of cardigans! I must admit except for taking pictures and a party - these doors are never closed.
I have not invested in art work for these walls...so in the mean time I hung what I like to look at: my mother's words and me as a baby! My fabulous 30th surprise party was themed "Picture Perfect" and everyone brought a framed pic of me and them...so fun! My Mother framed these pics of me as a baby and I love them. I also like to frame VERY special cards from Mother...these are two very dear ones that I like to read on good days and not so good days.
A gift from the Eta Omicron Chapter when I completed my CAC term...everyone should look at something each morning that says "We love you ______" (insert your name). Very good for the ole' self esteem.
My Master Loo!
I have a large shower...as in a family of 5 or 6 can come over for a shower!
I love my bathtub...and the view from this window.
My Aunt Margie gave me all my bathroom linens when I moved in which was the best!
Mother made sure I had a monogrammed bath towel immediately for my toes!
There you have it this is where I get all my beauty sleep, dream the night away, and retreat!
I am blessed beyond measure with the gifts from those I love to enjoy The Weymouth as much as I do!
My black/white damsk came from Target - circa summer 2007 - for those that inquired.

I love it all! I'm glad you're back on to 'home touring'. The Weymouth deserves to be presented to the world!!!! Oh, and when you decide to get rid of that Horchow mirror....I know, that will never happen!!!

Kate, I love looking at your home and I think it should be featured in a magazine. I have lots of treasures that have been passed on to me and I love them more than anything I could buy. I meant to ask you a couple of tours back, where did you get the Steel Magnolia poster? My all time favorite movie. If I ever get to your neighborhood, I sure hope to come to the Weymouth! Hugs, Kim

I love your home! I especially like Jeremiah 29:11, that's the verse that I was referring to when I named my son Jeremiah! I'm glad I found your blog! Stop by mine for a visit anytime.

Lovely. I have to make my bed every morning or I don't sleep well that night. And it does make the room look more picked up.
