Winter Storm 2010 | Day Three | Saturday

Before going to bed, I took these moonlight shots early Saturday morning!
It was so beautiful to look at, but I hate knowing so many are without power or shelter. I continue to lift up prayers for those needing warmth find it. Another example why we must support local United Way agencies, your shelters, and outreach services for the elderly.
This morning I ventured out (bless those rain boots) to hammer open (break the ice) the mailbox. To my surprise and delight, I had mail from Thursday most likely....hopefully today the post person will leave my goodies. Please.
That spring wreath doesn't really fit?
Across from The Weymouth
The east side of The Weymouth!
I'm so glad I'm not a plant. If these turn green come spring...wow.
My poor tree. This will be its last winter. Sniff. Sniff. Buying The Weymouth, everyone commented on this big, beautiful, shady tree. But thanks to the Winter Storm 2007, the arborist told me its been "compromised." Part of the roots have moved to the surface, the limbs fall with a wind gust above 10 mph (thats sitting still wind for Oklahoma), and any life it had is now frozen, gone, done. I am so excited to use my tax return on tree removal, grinding, and replacement. Sniff. Sniff.
A reminder of the ice that hides under this pretty powder sugar snow.
With that ice reminder on my house and on the driveway, my trip to Dallas for a major V-fix and a birthday party for one sweet Miss Ellie...is cancelled. Just not smart. Although the travel into southern Oklahoma says "slick in spots"....it only takes one spot to hurt my car, me, or someone. I couldn't live with myself if my want to drive in this mess, hurt someone that had to be out in this mess. Must think like an adult. No fun.
Thank goodness I sent Miss Ellie's party hat to her this month to celebrate all month! My loVe bug will be so excited to try on her new slicker in a few weekends! Love to my beloveds in Texas...see you in mid February! Thanks to a dear friend...I'm getting 1) out today and 2) attending something I've wanted to attend for a LONG time in Norman, America. Hold please.
