Throw me some Beads! (Norman Style)

Norman, America was better on Saturday with the arrival of my dear Valentine, Mother.

Mother no sooner put down her bag, we were out the door for a kick-off to Mardi Gras Celebration on Bingham Place. Assigned to bring an appetizer, I decided to bring something from my non-cooking light recipe drawer. Bread + butter + cheese + poppy seeds + green onions =yum. Over a year ago, I stole this from another party....one of my best dishes to ever steel.
Neighbor and Me
I thought we would both put on masks...one of us is not like the other.
The Little Lady and Nickster
The Chef
... who created this Mardi Gras menu masterpiece.
We weren't on Bourbon Street, but from the laughs and fine food...ya would never know.
The Cake Lady (aka: Sunny) and Me!
Sunny and I met at a baby shower in 1999, and today people ALWAYS ask us if we are sisters - even if we are not together. Something about our hand motions, antics, and stories.
Mother and Neighbor...a pair made in heaven.
Little N and Nickster
Anna and (baby) Kate
King Cake (Norman Style...thanks La Baguette)
Abby found the baby. The teeny tiny baby that is!
It was such a fun night and I loved giggling with Sunny and Mother as we ended the night. Granted we are a LONG way from the crazies of Canal Street, but we did celebrate. In Norman style that is. It's been a LONG time since I've said, "throw me some beads!" Oh, the memories.
