Two Thursdays ago, I experienced one great, fabulous surprise.
I do love them....to a point. Surprises that is.
My dear partner at work (and Lucy's Daddy) guilted me into attending an Awards Ceremony for Norman Campus Faculty. This time of year, we have awards ceremonies around each and every corner. Thus, you make the ones you need and want to be at...but other than if you are the University President (and the photographer) one really has to keep these events in check. I balance attendance at events for both our Norman (Main) campus and my beloved HSC campus. Thus, I can't attend everything...but I come close.
Little did I know I was receiving Outstanding Instructor for Freshman Seminars at the event!
I was shocked. Had no clue. Didn't even know they gave such an award. The minute I realized it was me, I apologized for being "difficult" in getting to the event to my dear friends and slapped on some lipstick. Relief: I had on an above average outfit.

Sadly, my nails were anything BUT manicured...so I curled them under in this picture so no one could see their look. Fast thinking Kate...they call me.
Some of my sweet (and funny) friends were there (to support and pick up their own awards) as well. Something about being totally surprised for something you LOVE to do, and didn't even have to fill out an application....deep breath...humbling and so honored.
