Summer Journeys

My journeys have been many this summer season and I couldn't be more thankful for the time, the experiences, and the rest. Glorious rest by a pool, sleeping in, and long naps on my white couch. Nope, red wine has never been spilled on it.

I live a full, hectic, and wonderful life. By the end of the school year, I am more than ready to vacate the normal (and the abnormal) demands and doings of my days.

For me, the summer is just a slower time. Not that my to do list isn't long (IT IS)...it just doesn't have an urgency that August until April bring about. Most folks enjoy some time away, e-mails don't have to be answered as fast, Sundays at the pool are a norm, and my Southwest Airlines points pile up at a quicker speed. And, that they did. Denver. Chicago. St. Joe. Phoenix.

Over a 30 day period this summer, I spent 17 days out of my zip code. During the days in my zip code I've spent regrouping, earning my paycheck that I'm so grateful for, and loving on some precious souls. But, I'm back peeps. I've enjoyed the break, but missed sharing, writing, and journaling (not a word) this life chosen for me. I remain blessed beyond measure and forever hopeful.

I hope your summers have been more than wonderful and full of lots of watermelon, hugs, and lazy days by the pool...mine has. One more thing that has made this summer unforgettable...LOTS of time with a 34 inch little lady that says my name pretty darn perfect.
